I can't believe that March is just around the corner which means we're coming up to the end of another quarter already! For those of you on JobKeeper, March is the final month this can be claimed. If you want to see how your business is going without the JobKeeper supplements and to get an idea of what needs to be achieved to move forward, get in touch sooner rather than later.
Over the the next couple of months, all major accounting software packages will be increasing their pricing with many of you already
receiving notification from your providers.
From 1st March, there will be a flat $2.00 / month increase for Xero users irrespective of the plan you are using. This also means, that all
clients where I hold the subscription will see an increase in their invoice from me to cover this additional outlay. Please note, this is a
Xero price increase, not a Hands On Bookkeepers one.
For QuickBooks Online users, they too will see a $2.00 / month increase on their plans from 01 April 2021. However, Payroll options will no
longer be included. Any users currently using QBO with Payroll will now have an additional outlay for KeyPay Payroll solutions of $5.00 /
employee / month.
I have also been advised, on 1st April 2021 there will also be an increase for MYOB AccountRight Premier users to $150.00 / month.
I have not provided much information to you in respect of the JobMaker scheme which has strict eligibility criteria, showing not only a
headcount increase from a baseline date of (currently) 30 September 2020, but also a a payroll amount increase.
If, for example, you had a full time employee in September 2020 who decided to go part time, you might need to employ a further staff member
to pick up those hours. Whilst your head count has increased, it would be unlikely your payroll amount would have increased as well, so you
would not be eligible.
However, if you are like to be establishing a new business and will be engaging staff, you may well be eligible. To find out more, get in
touch with us here so I can go through it with you on a case by case basis.
On a final note, as we move into the last quarter of 2020-2021 financial year, I would like to let you know that I am moving to be a Xero
only practice.
For current clients on other platforms, nothing will change as I will continue to provide the same outstanding service I have always
provided on their current platform of choice. However, I will now only accept new clients either already on, wanting to convert to, or be
set up in Xero. Something to bear in mind when you are talking to your business friends.
Starting from next month, I will be exploring some of the more popular apps which can be integrated with Xero to explain how they work and
how they may be able to help you in your business.
Until then, take care and remember, shop local!
